Typically, only a small amount is needed for most keepsakes. However, it is best to read the description of your item for more details.

All remaining materials are returned upon request and only when possible.

Most orders are completed within 4–8 weeks depending on complexity.
Larger orders may take longer and will be communicated after order is confirmed.

Each piece is uniquely handcrafted and will vary slightly based on the materials provided.

Rule of thumb, one flower per item. However, some items we require more and for some items we may need less. It is always best to send the entire flower. Please note that smaller flowers with small petals will be the exception to the rule of thumb. Please email us for further details.
Many types of flowers can be used; however, roses are the best. There are a few types of flowers that do not work well for our process including Lilies and Cymbidium Orchids, and most Exotic flowers do not work well for our process.
The sooner we receive your flowers the better. Place your flowers in a box. Do not use any plastic, paper towels as this can cause rapid browning to your flowers while they are being shipped to us. Cut the stems of the flowers, we only need the whole flower head. Place your flowers in the box. Just let flowers be free in the box. Do not use envelopes to ship. US Post Office is the cheapest method. If possible, with fresh flower overnight your them to us or at least 2-day priority.
When flowers dry some of the colors may change. This is especially the case for red roses; they dry to a very dark Burgundy color. Pink Roses can dry to a more purple color (but not all, some stay pink). White roses can dry to a yellow color or tan type color. We have even seen white roses turn to a green or pink color. Hometown Originals is not responsible for color changes as it is a natural process to preparing them.
